This certification is offered by the International Consortium for Agile (ICAgile), and it’s designed specifically for coaches who want to work with organizations undertaking agile transformations.

The ICP-CAT certification requires completion of a two-day training course, after which you will earn a certificate for completion.

One of the benefits of this particular certification is that it’s internationally recognized.

True Enterprise Agility requires a delicate mix of the correct processes and the right attitude to elicit the necessary responses from the entire team to those processes. The ICP-CAT certification and training will show that you have the knowledge and skills to guide individuals, teams, and organisations overcome the hurdles of adopting an agile mindset.

On the Enterprise Agile Coaching Track, the Enterprise Agile Coaching is the second of two knowledge-based certificates. This certification examines the essential principles of an agile transformation and connects the core enterprise coaching competencies in a way that empowers coaches to engage as change agents in businesses.

The ICP-ACC is one of two Continuous Learning Certifications (CLCs) that focuses on an Agile Coach’s mentality, roles, and responsibilities. Candidates learn both the ‘doing’ and ‘being’ of agile coaching in this one-of-a-kind session. The intentional focus on real-world practical scenarios empowers aspiring, in-transition, and established coaches with the skills and resources they need to develop effective solutions to problems.

The ICP-CAT Certification enables you to gain specialised and advanced skills as an Agile or enterprise coach, allowing you to assist organisations transition. This course will teach you how to work more efficiently, adapt to organisational changes, develop individuals and teams, create a solid team structure, discover new tools and techniques, manage programmes, and boost business agility. Other advantages include:

  • A deep understanding of the factors causing resistance against an organization
  • The psychology behind the change
  • Change models
  • Preparing yourself in broader scale facilitation of change
  • Modification of organizational processes
  • Improving culture and inculcating the values to people

Enterprise Agile Coaches are experts in coaching, facilitation, management consulting, and organisational development who work on a large scale. Working with organisational structures and culture, training leaders, fostering a strong team culture, expanding technical practises, change and programme management, complicated adaptive systems, and boosting business agility are just a few examples.

It’s more than a job title; it’s a set of skills and competencies that anyone can learn and apply to help organisations become more Agile. People in these disciplines will not be experts throughout the entire subject, but rather broadly versed with some specialty(ies) to act as catalysts in directing change, similar to management consulting or organisational development. ECA skills can contribute to practitioners in roles such as Agile Leader, Agile Coach, Agile Sponsor or Agile Champion.

Scrum Masters and Agile coaches have different roles to play. A Scrum Master is responsible for mentoring and coaching teams on Agile processes, as well as serving as a servant leader and assisting the product owner.

Here are some stats which prove that the demand for Agile coaches is skyrocketing

  • Agile coaches will be in high demand as they guide Agile transformations across industries and help teams become self-organized and motivated.

ICP-CAT stands for Enterprise Agility – Coaching Agile Transitions (ICP-CAT)

Agile teams are expected to be self-organized, communicate with their customers, effectively adjust to change, develop high-quality products, and, of course, deliver early and often. However, saying it is easier than doing it. To begin, Agile teams require an environment in which to grow — one that is based on trust, respect, and a shared interest. This is typically where traditional project management’s ‘command and control’ approach fails to deliver. The team requires an Agile Coach who mentors and coaches various Agile roles, or a Scrum Master with the necessary coaching abilities.

The Indian IT sector is gradually recognising the importance and necessity of coaching abilities, and as a result, demand for Agile Coaches is rapidly increasing. Agile Coaches are expected to have a unique set of behavior skills, such as self-awareness and self-management, perspective taking, active listening, powerful questioning, facilitation, and so on, in addition to any technical or business competence that may be required. After all, coaching is more about developing capability for self-learning and self-growth than it is about providing results.

International Consortium of Agile (ICAgile) is an international organization, headquartered in Virginia, USA. They have worldwide recognition for their training tracks related to Agile. Please find more details here… https://icagile.com/

This certification programme is also recommended for roles that are expected to lead and support an Agile team – Scrum Masters and Managers in an Agile development environment – in addition to current and aspiring Agile Coaches.

In today’s climate, most IT and non-IT industry majors employ individuals who are conversant with the Scrum framework’s fundamentals.

An Advanced Certified ScrumMaster® can help a company in a variety of ways, including guiding team members through the product development process, facilitating meetings, and more.

  • Assist the team in producing outstanding results.
  • Take part in team activities with ease and gain experience in task ownership.
  • Allow the team to work together to overcome complex roadblocks in the process.
  • Act as a catalyst for change by fostering a culture where teams may thrive.
  • Prevail as a servant leader for Scrum teams working on high-end product development.

After completing any certification course, the Project Management Institute awards Professional Development Units (PDUs) and the Scrum Alliance awards Scrum Educational Units (SEUs) to the candidate. They are awarded to acknowledge the professional’s participation and to verify their understanding of Scrum’s principles and procedures. Every two years, you must achieve a specific number of SEUs to maintain your Scrum Alliance certification.

Agile refers to a way of thinking about software development. Scrum, along with Kanban and Extreme Programming, is the most extensively used Agile framework.

When the “Manifesto for Agile Software Development” was published in 2001, the term “agile” was coined. The authors were the two founders of the Scrum framework, as well as 15 others who shared their perspective on software development. The manifesto emphasises the importance of delivering software that customers value early and often during the development process. This manner, based on user input, what is delivered can be altered quickly throughout development. To make this possible, developers must work closely with one another as well as with their clients.

Scrum gives a framework for working with an Agile attitude. Scrum is described in a more generic fashion, despite its origins in software development. It’s also used in fields other than software, like marketing. The framework assists a self-organizing team in completing tasks on a regular basis and in close collaboration. Throughout the development process, there will be numerous opportunities to check what has been produced thus far and to improve the way the job is done.

The Project Management Institute and the Scrum Alliance, respectively, grant PDUs and SEUs. They reward you for your commitment to the Agile community by giving you credit for every educational effort you make during your career. Scrum Alliance members who hold a credential must earn SEUs every two years in order to maintain their certification. The PMI® offers PDUs, and all PMI® certifications, except the CAPM®, require you to acquire a certain amount of PDUs over the course of a three-year certification cycle.
