Product Owner and Product Manager are two critical positions in a product-based company. Product Managers also have to be concerned with ways in which they can bring value to their organization by optimizing processes, cost control, identifying opportunities to increase revenue, and leading initiatives.

 

Though Product Owners and Product Managers both play a critical role in the success of a product-based company, it’s clear that the Product Owner is ultimately responsible for driving the success of the product while Product Managers are responsible for properly managing the team that brings it to fruition. With this being said, Product Owners have more authority when it comes to decisions regarding product vision and roadmap while Product Managers are focused more on operational excellence during development. Ultimately, Product Owners have the final say when it comes to product vision and Product Managers have the final say on project execution.
